USA Science and Engineering Festival
INCOSE WMA would like to take this opportunity to invite our chapter members to come out to the USA Science and Engineering Festival and share your love of STEM with K-12 grade students from the Washington Metro Area. This is a great opportunity to volunteer and make an impact in the lives of area youth.
International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Washington Metro Area (WMA) is proud to be an Official Partner of the 3rd USA Science & Engineering Festival, to be held April 24-27, 2014 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in D.C.
As an Official Partner, INCOSE WMA will have an exhibit booth at the Festival; “Can I Give You a Hand?” Engineering a Model Hand. We are looking for passionate STEM professionals to assist the students with this fun and interactive exhibit on Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27 for timeslots of 1-3 hours; beginning at 9 am until 6 pm both days. USASEF Participants include more than 750 of the World’s leading professional scientific and engineering societies, universities, government agencies, high tech corporations and STEM outreach and community organizations.
What is the universe made of? Why did dinosaurs go extinct? What do magic tricks and hip-hop have to do with math? What will be the next medical breakthrough? Find out at the 3rd USA Science & Engineering Festival Expo where over 250,000 K-12 students and parents, over 5,000 teachers and over 3,000 STEM professionals will experience the largest celebration of STEM!
The two-day Expo is perfect for teens, children and their families, and anyone with a curious mind who is looking for a weekend of fun and discovery. Meet science celebrities like Mike Rowe; host of the Discovery Channel’s Dirty Job series, Bill Nye the Science Guy, David Pogue, host of NOVA ScienceNow series on PBS, and Grammy Award-winning alternative music band “They Might Be Giants!”
