Course Description:

This course will cover the fundamentals of requirements elicitation and analysis. Participants will practice methods for identifying effective and testable requirements and performing basic analysis to ensure requirements are complete.

The overall purpose of this course is to:

  • Understand the basics of requirements elicitation
    • What are requirements and why do we need them?
    • How do requirements fit within the SE Lifecycle?
    • How do we gather and capture good requirements?
  • Be familiar with fundamental concepts for requirement analysis
    • How do you classify and categorize requirements?
    • How do we ensure requirements traceability?
    • How do we handle changes to requirements?

Presenter Bio:

Cindy Dupree is an experienced manager with over 25 years of expertise in engineering systems and solutions to meet government and business needs. She is currently the Department Head for Agile Systems within MITRE’s Center for Connected Government with capabilities focused in agile engineering approaches, conceptual design, process assessments, and transition management. Over the past 7 years she has also lead departments focused on Project Management Tools and Techniques, and System Analysis, Design and Integration. Cindy holds a PMP certification with the Project Management Institute and is a certified Scrum Master and ITIL professional. Cindy has taught several courses at MITRE Institute including “Requirements in the Systems Engineering Lifecycle” and “Model Based Requirements”.
