WMA and Chesapeake Chapters

The Chesapeake Chapter, in collaboration with the Washington Metro Area Chapter, is hosting a sponsored Systems Engineering Professional (SEP) Exam at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel Maryland. This Exam is being sponsored by Washington Metro Area (WMA) Chapter and Chesapeake Chapter.

This paper-based SEP Exam will be held on Saturday, May 20th at 9:30am -11:30am, arrival by 9:00am and is open to INCOSE members only and non-members, and if passed, will fulfill the knowledge testing requirements for the INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) and Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) credentials. . If you are not currently an INCOSE member and wish to join, please register as a member via Join INCOSE.

NOTE: You may take this Exam without being a member of INCOSE. However, once you pass the Exam, you must become a member of INCOSE, and complete the Application Process with the required fees to become a Certified SEP.


Check-In and Continental Breakfast at 9 AM. The Exam begins promptly at 9:30AM.

You will be notified by US Mail of your test results within 4 to 6 weeks after completing the exam. Once passed, the full application for ASEP or CSEP certification, based upon your level of education and professional experience, needs to be submitted with the appropriate certification fees to INCOSE. The INCOSE application forms are located on incose.org/certification/certforms#Application1. In order to apply for the certification after passing the examination, your membership must be current. You may apply or renew membership at: incose.org/about/Membership/Join

ID Requirements: Please bring a government issued unexpired ID matching your name in the application.

From Washington DC and Capital Beltway (I-495):
Take I-95 North toward Baltimore, 10 miles to Columbia exit (MD Route 32 West).
Go 2.5 miles to the Washington DC exit (US Route 29 South).
Go 1.5 miles south and take Johns Hopkins Road exit (bear right at the top of the hill).

Or from the Capital Beltway (I-495): Take US Route 29 North (Colesville Road) 10 miles and follow signs for the turn onto Johns Hopkins Road.

From Baltimore and Baltimore Beltway (I-695):
Take I-95 South toward Washington DC.
Go 13 miles and take Columbia exit (MD Route 32 West).
Go 2.5 miles and take Washington DC exit (US Route 29 South).
Go 1.5 miles south and take Johns Hopkins Road exit (bear right at the top of the hill).

Once you’re on Johns Hopkins Road:
APL, Kossiakoff Center is a half-mile west of US Route 29 on your right side. Take the right turn off of Johns Hopkins Road. Enter the first en- trance, continuing past the pond and take the first right and park in the Kossiakoff Center parking lot.
