Call for reviewers supporting the IS 2018 review process

Dear INCOSE Colleagues,

Please pardon the previous message.  Unfortunately, all items were actually not in place to support the desire to minimize the work for the reviewers. Please fill out the form available in the link below.  If accepted then you will also have to enter the info into EasyChair.  We will try to improve this next year.

The INCOSE Annual International Symposium provides a unique forum for systems engineers to interact, share and learn of the latest developments in systems engineering science, theory and practice.  The technical program is one of the most important aspects of the symposium, and we rely on the quality of the submission reviews to ensure a solid program. Preparation for the INCOSE IS 2018 in Washington DC, USA is already in progress. At this stage we are in need of additional reviewers.

The IS2018 Technical Review Committee (TRC) cordially seeks your support with the IS 2018 review process as a reviewer. The reviewing time frame is from Early December 2017 to Early January 2018. If you are able to volunteer please submit your information by October 27, 2017. Fill out the form found at this link and email it to

Your personal information will not be made available to any third parties nor will it be used for any purpose other than maintaining a database of INCOSE Reviewers. If you decide to become a reviewer, you will receive an email from INCOSE prior to each year’s symposium allowing you to confirm whether you will again be willing to support the next symposium with your volunteer time as reviewer. You can request the removal of your personal information at any time.

We will use the information you provide to optimally allocate submissions for review that best fit your skills and experience. We endeavor to not burden you with more than three submissions to review (although reviewers who volunteer to take on a heavier burden are always welcomed!)

Please note that if you have been a reviewer for IS 2016 and/or IS 2017 you are requested to provide us with your data again as there have been major changes and additions to the  SE topics and SE Application Domains which we trust will contribute to better coverage of the systems engineering discipline for both authors and reviewers.

You will be notified of your reviewer status in late November / early December 2017.  If selected as a reviewer this year you will also receive allocated submissions for review at the same time. We will also include any additional information you may need to perform your reviews.

Thank you in anticipation of your kind support.

Best regards,

Mike Celentano, ESEP

INCOSE Technical Director

Dinner with INCOSE GWU Student Chapter on Aug 22

The INCOSE GWU student division is excited to be a new chapter under the INCOSE WMA. We have been working to develop and grow our organization for the months ahead, since our inception in March 2017. The WMA Chapter has welcomed us with open arms and given us tremendous support. We greatly appreciated meeting some of the members of the executive board last night, and looking forward to meeting other members as our relationship with the WMA Chapter grows.

Our goal as an organization is to create a close community of systems engineers with opportunities to network and learn about the discipline. INCOSE GWU is looking forward to planning a requirements gathering event with the WMA Chapter in the upcoming months, and attending the monthly meetings for a chance to learn from the many speakers that are brought in.

Help Wanted – Assistant Program Chair, Assistant Communication Chair, Assistant Treasurer, Assistant Tutorial Chair, Working Group POC

Call for volunteers to help the WMA chapter continue doing its good work.

Several of the WMA Chairs and Leadership have seen their tasks and roles expand over the last few years.   The WMA leadership and Chair position are all volunteer as you know,  but as our chapter continues to grow,  more help is needed.   Volunteering is a great way to learn how the INCOSE organization works as well as kudos on your resume for outside work. In WMA’s case too,  very little experience is needed, and most all of you have a wealth of it anyhow.

These positions usually just a few hours per month,  with very flexible arrangements  and little weekend work.     Most of the work is task oriented and specific; you will usually be expected to take a task and run with it to completion.  Mostly however, it is fun work with a bunch of really great Systems Engineers.
